Colonel (RET) William S Vogel, US Army. Engineer Officer. Retired from the US Army in 1998 and entered private business as a Contractor and was President and Managing Director of the Asplundh Environmental Services, Inc. I have been a life long member of MOAA since 1998 and was a charter member of the Baldwin County MOAA. I have served in various positions for the Chapter and currently serve as the Secretary of the Board of Directors.

From Fairhope, AL and graduated from Fairhope High School and the attended Troy State University earning a BS degree. In 1982 enlisted in the AL National Guard and then completed Officer Candidate School, Alabama Military Academy, Class 26. In June 1982 received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, Armor. He then served for 24 years as a Company Commander, Brigade S2 intelligence Officer, and Armor Battalion Commander. In 2004 volunteered for active duty in Norfolk, VA working Homeland Security Intelligence matters. Upon completion of this tour he retired in JAN 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Graduated from Baldwin County High and then attended University Alabama and enrolled in ROTC graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant and commissioned in the Signal Corp in 1964. After graduation from UA attended Florida State University receiving a PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry. After graduation from FSU went was on active duty from 1970-1972. Was detailed to NASA Ames Research Center at Edwards AFB. Assignment as an Aerospace Engineer working on Lifting Bodies to develop test beds for the Space Shuttle and worked with the Air Force on SR-71 air-flow concepts. After leaving active duty taught Command & General Staff College for several years, served as CO of a Chemical Company, S4 for a Civil Affairs Battalion, Mobilization Officer for 81st ARCOM, G6 Chief of Staff for Communications and Automation for 1st COSCOM XXVIII Airborne Corps during Desert Storm as a military detailee. After 27 years in the USAR spent an additional 8 years in the KY Army NG in a Personnel Services Company.
Retired as a LtCol from the KyArNG.
After active duty taught Chemistry and Computer Science at LaGrange College – Lagrange GA, Eastern Kentucky University and Transylvania University (Lexington KY). After academia worked for Oracle Corporation for 22 years in program design and customer training.
Communications – CPT Jimmy “Jim” Parnell, USA (Prior Service)
I grew up in Oxford, Alabama, then received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alabama. I took ROTC in college and was commissioned in the US Army Reserves. My active duty was as a Combat Engineer stationed at Ft. Belvoir and Ft. Benning. Following active duty, I served in the Louisiana National Guard and in the Army Reserves in Colorado reaching the rank of Captain.
My working career was mostly in chemical manufacturing with Shell Chemical and DuPont. Brenda and I were married for 36 years. Our blended families have six children, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Colonel (Ret) Tara L. Morrison served 26 years in the USAF. She served in leadership and contracting positions at wing, major command, agency, Headquarters Air Force level, and on two deployments. A graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide), Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma, and Air War College (correspondence). The Air Force allowed Colonel Morrison to touch down on four continents while serving alongside patriots, and their loving families. Among others, her Ramstein AB, GE assignment holds particularly fond memories. Colonel Morrison retired to Gulf Shores, AL and volunteers with the Children’s Ministry of her local church and as a Board of Director for her Home Owners Association. Colonel (ret) Morrison also serves as a Board of Director with MOAA, Baldwin County Chapter, as Family Support Chair.

Tim Russell was commissioned as an Army 2LT in 1970 at the University of Alabama. He served during Vietnam as the Fifth US Army Casualty Officer. Russell served in the US Army Reserves for six years and was honorably discharged as a Captain. Russell served as Mayor of Foley, Alabama for three terms, as Commissioner of Revenue for the State of Alabama and finished his career as Probate Judge of Baldwin County. Russell serves as a Board Member of the Baldwin County Chapter MOAA.

LTC Jerry W. Morrison, USA (Ret) was commissioned through the Alabama Military Academy (OCS-Infantry). He served in Command and Senior Staff positions at Company, Group and, Brigade levels with the U. S. Army Reserve. LTC Morrison also served with the U. S. Military Academy (West Point) as a Regional Area Coordinator and Liaison Officer. He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. LTC Morrison is a graduate of the LSU Graduate School of Banking and the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College. His background includes that of a commercial banking career as the President and Chief Executive Officer at both the community and large financial institution level. He currently is President and Co-Founder, with his spouse Linda, leading a firm in the acquisition, design, build, and marketing of real estate properties in Alabama and Florida. He and his spouse, Linda, have been married for 59 years and are blessed with two children and two grandchildren.
